Acceptance and Appreciation for Those Living a Different Truth

Every now and then I get caught up in the hubris of my certainty.  I understand the world in a certain way, just as we each do, and I share that world way with my students.  I do understand, however, that my way is not the only way and that there is MUCH out there that no one on this planet understands- yet.  It does not make what I understand wrong, it does not make what they understand wrong, it just means that many people need a different way to understand the reality we live in.

This may sound confusing and indeed, it can be confusing and even frustrating when you are listening to someone whose Truth does not resonate inside of you – or vice versa.  I think most of us on the Light Path have encountered that when we started seeking our Truth from those within our clan and family that were not seeking; but, when we encounter those on their Path we do need to make sure we don’t make the mistake of discounting that person and their Truth.

I have known several people over the years whose Truth is very different from mine.  Sometimes there was difficulty in communicating, but when we sat down and worked diligently together, we realized that though our words were different the Truth was the same.

Sometimes people have a complex Truth and others a simple Truth.  I believe that when we break it all down Truth is consistent for all.  We just have different personalities and different cultures and different ideas that help create the different view points.

I knew someone for years who before she did any Energy Work she would light candles, say multiple mantras, put on music, set out complex crystal layouts, meditate for a while and then she felt clear to communicate with her angels.  Me, I am much quicker to get into my Work zone than that.  I admit that I have dissuaded many of my students from creating elaborate rituals prior to doing their Work, but I do encourage that everyone create the mode that helps them get to where they need to go.

Sometimes an elaborate ritual to get oneself ready to Work is not practical – it certainly is not for me when I am dealing with an exorcism, psychic attacks, or clearing a home or land environment.  But I do enjoy my small rituals when I have time for them. Candles are always nice for ambiance and incense helps to set my mind in the right place; the right music can also lend assistance.

What I am trying to say is this – when you encounter someone on the Path please take the time to get to know them and their beliefs before you walk away.  You never know what you may learn from someone whose Truth seems different than your own and even if you don’t do anything other than share some time and energy, by spending respectful time with someone you have created a contact that may help someone you know now or in the future.
